CinePartners Entertainment is a US based independent, full-service film production company, with an additional office located in Budapest, Hungary. We produce and co-produce both international and Hungarian films.
We combine North American financing with European private and public funding, as well as Hungarian tax incentives. Our films have been distributed by various international sales companies and television broadcasters.
Shadow Productions Kft.
Shadow Productions Kft. is CinePartners Entertainment Inc.’s Hungarian film production company based in Budapest. Shadow produces independent feature films in Hungary and qualifies for Hungarian subsidies, tax incentives, and returns. In addition, the company produces award-winning student short films for the Budapest Film Academy.
CEO of CinePartners Entertainment and Shadow Productions, Jeno Hodi, is also the founder and managing director of the Budapest Film Academy. He is an American-Hungarian, multiple award-winning director, writer and producer.
He studied in Columbia University, New York, earning his Master’s Film Degree in classes taught by Milos Forman, Brian De Palma, Frank Daniel, John Avildsen and Dusan Makavejev. He was the first student in Columbia University’s history to write, direct and produce a 35mm feature length film while studying in its graduate film program.
As a filmmaker Jeno had years of training in Los Angeles with some of the world’s finest acting teachers, including Milton Katselas and Stella Adler. He was also a member of the writers/directors unit of the Actor’s Studio.
While Jeno lived in the US, he wrote, directed and produced a dozen features and several short films. Upon his return to Hungary, he realized that there is a real need for a film school which teaches the study of film as a business and gives a comprehensive training.
Budapest Film Academy
Budapest Film Academy (BFA) and Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) have joined forces offering practical film studies. This partnership provides students with high quality and comprehensive filmmaking training.
Our partner university in Los Angeles is Loyola Marymount University. They send filmmaking students to the Budapest Film Academy within their study abroad program.

In this existential anthology, the protagonists reveal their true selves as they confront extreme situations, tiptoeing around death. They question their values and follow their deepest convictions.
Only The Whites of our Eyes - short film
Status: in pre-production
A father and son, estranged by years of silence, share two days due to a cataract surgery —where the whites of the eyes reveal what words never could. This short film explores fathers, sons, and the pain of unspoken love.
